4th "R" Before & After School Program held at your child's elementary school!

While you are at work, your child can participate in a safe, quality, and affordable program right in their own school! This Before and After School Program is operated right on-site at your child's elementary school, using the cafeteria, gymnasium, playground and outside ground for activities.

Activities will be based around monthly themes and include: Physical activity time, arts & crafts, homework/quiet time, free play, healthy snack (pm only). Location: (drop off and pick up is on site)

For Kindergarten-5th Grade Please Note: AM care ONLY for AM Kindergarten and PM care ONLY for PM Kindergarten

PLEASE READ:

Program Times: Before School: 7:00am to school start (drop off anytime after 7:00am)

After School: Upon school release to 6:00pm (pick up no later than 6:00pm)

Once you have registered for the 4th "R" you have signed up for an entire month of Monday- Friday care.

There are no exceptions to customizing a schedule for any individual family.

Participants in this program are to report to the site every day when school is in session base on what you have signed up for.

Each participant is expected to be signed in the for the Am session and signed out in the PM session by a parent/ guardian.

When you sign up for the 4th "R" program you sign up for the entire month, The 4th "R" program cannot be customized to individual families.

Participants are not permitted to take a bus to or from school when they are enrolled in the 4th "R" program.

Important Information for delays, early dismissal and snow days:

DELAYED START (at your child's school) On days with a delayed start to the school day (due to weather or any other reason) The South Windsor Recreation Department will provide care starting at 8:30am for all children who are registered for The 4^th "R" AM or BOTH program. The Recreation Department will follow the Board of Education ninety minute delay policy.

EARLY DISMISSAL (at your child's school) On days when school is dismissed early (due to weather) The South Windsor Recreation Department will provide care starting at school dismissal until 6pm for all children who are registered for the 4^th "R" PM or BOTH program. You may be contacted by staff for pick up as soon as possible.

SNOW DAYS (Held at Wapping Elementary School) The South Windsor Recreation Department will provide care from 8:30am-6pm on a snow day for all children who are registered for the 4^th "R" Program during the month the snow day occurs. There will not be any charge for this service. Children from EVERY Elementary School will be dropped off and picked up at WAPPING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Please enter the Main entrance of school) and participate in a full day of activities.
