Before & After School program held at your child’s elementary school!

While you are at work, your child can participate in a safe, quality, and affordable program right in their own school! This Before and After School Program is operated right on-site at your child’s elementary school, using the cafeteria, gymnasium, playground and outside grounds for activities. Activities will be based around monthly themes and include: Physical Activity Time, Arts and Crafts, Homework/Quiet Time, Free Play, Healthy Snack (PM only).

Program Times:
(AM) Before School – 7:00am to school start (drop off anytime after 7:00am)
(PM) After School – Upon school release to 6:00pm (pick up no later than 6:00pm)

Registration for The 4th R
Registration for The 4th “R” Before and Afterschool Program is on-going and must be done in person at the South Windsor Recreation Department. Registration is on a monthly basis and payments may be made in person, online or automatically charging a credit card after initial registration.

• Please fill a 4th “R” Registration Form. Forms must be returned to Recreation Office.

• When registering, the first month signed up for must be paid in full, and then the following months can be put on a payment plan. (see below).

• A packet of information including the parent handbook, registration form, medical form, pick-up authorizations form and more can be picked up at the Recreation Department.

• Registration for each month must be done at least 2 weeks prior to the start of that month.

• All children who want to participate in our School Vacation Programs must be registered at least one week before the first day of the program.

Pricing:
Prices are based off a monthly charge (November, December, February, April and June are reduced for vacation time). Prices include all half days and early dismissals.

Monthly Payment

Payment Plan:
Registration is on a monthly basis. The first month signed up for must be paid in full and the following months may be placed on a payment plan. You may choose to pay monthly (payment due first of month) or bi-monthly (50% due the 15th of the prior month, and 50% due by the 1st of the month). Payments may be made online, in person, or charged automatically to a credit card.

Multi-child discount:
Families with more than one child enrolled in a month are given a 10% discount of the second child.

Refunds
Generally speaking, there will be NO REFUNDS for The 4th “R” program. Extended absences due to illness verified by a doctor’s note, or extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis for potential prorated refunds. If your child will no longer be attending The 4th “R” program, you must let the Recreation Department know at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the session to receive a full refund.

Health History & Medical Forms
Every year all participants must submit a completed Health History Form with updated information. This form must be handed into the Recreation Department at least 2 weeks before to the start of the program. Please note: This form MUST BE SIGNED BY A DOCTOR, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OR NURSE PRACTITIONER, with all updated accurate information. The program’s Supervisor needs to review the information prior to each child attending the Before and After School Program. Every child must have a health examination within 12 months prior to the start of the program. Each site will have at least one staff member for every 10 children.

Snow Day Coverage:
Full day coverage will be available in the event of school cancellation. This program will be held at WAPPING Elementary School from 7:00am – 6:00pm. There is an NO additional charge for snow day coverage. Children will partake in a day full of activities including arts & crafts, indoor games, sledding/outdoor games (send appropriate clothing).
