Fall 2010 Preschool Registration Date Announced
Thursday, August 26th for Fall Session
Preschool Registration for Session 1: (9/7-11/1) and Session 2: (10/26-12/20) classes will begin for Residents on Thursdays, August 26th, 2010 on a first-come-first-served basis.
Non-resident Registration will begin on Thursday, September 2nd.

Preschool Open House
Please join us at our Preschool Open House on Thursday, September 2nd from 9:30am to 11:00am in rooms 213-215, SW Community Center. Come and meet the Preschool Teachers, see the rooms and enjoy some refreshments. Feel free to ask questions and learn about our preschool programs!
MEET OUR TEACHERS!
Cheryl Gerber – Cheryl was hired in 1994 for the Recreation Department. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. Previously she taught physical education for grades K-8 and coached several sports teams. Cheryl also directs the SWRD Little Explorers Summer Day Camp.
Mary Harper – Mary holds a Master Degree from St. Joseph College in Special and Regular Education. She worked for Manchester Public Schools teaching Special Education for 11 years. Mary also teaches CCD.
Patricia Hatala – Pat joined the team in 2006, helping us aide in preschool classes. She has worked for the town in the past at the Town Hall and is a great new asset to the program.
Sue Loomis – Sue has taught in the preschool program since 1994. She graduated from Trinity College BA in Spanish. Before working at the Recreation Department she worked in the managed health care field. She also has been a girl scout leader, taught CCD and done volunteer work in schools and for swim teams.
Marney Mazzoni - Marney has an Associates Degree from Centenary College and has also attended Katherine Gibbs School. She started working for us in 2002 as an Preschool Aide and has done volunteer work in several classrooms.
Beth Rounce – Beth has worked at the South Windsor Recreation Department since 1993. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Grove City College. Prior to working at the Recreation Department Beth taught sixth grade and and was a director of a child care center.
Cara Sivo – Cara is one of our newest teachers who has taken on the job with great ease. She is a veteran to the program having 3 children attend the SWRD preschool over the past 10 years. Cara volunteers at Wapping School as well.
