General Information
Competitive basketball play versus Central CT opponents, the travel basketball league offers youngsters increased practice time (typically two 2 hour practice per week) and 25-30 game schedule including tournaments. Season runs mid-October to mid-March. 5th graders are eligible for the 6th grade team.
Fee: Youth Registration Fee of $108 ($88 if registered by October 7th) plus $97 Travel Fee. Plus an additional $110/player or $140/family payable to SWGTBB.
In order to try out for travel basketball, all participants must be registered for youth basketball. Individuals not selected are enrolled in the Recreation In-House Basketball League.
Coaches
6th Grade Coaches - Scott Gallagher.
7th Grade Coaches - Gregg Karlins. Gregg has coached three years with the Travel Basketball program. Gregg also coaches travel soccer in town. - Matt Eppler, Matt returns as Assistant Coach of the 7th Grade team. Matt is a school teacher and has coached at multiple levels.
8th Grade Coaches - Dan VanHorn. Dan returns to coach for his third year. Dan has coached both boys and girls Recreation basketball and little league. Rich Mabey. Rich returns for his second year of coaching travel basketball and has been involved in coaching both Boys and Girls in multiple sports. Rich is a school teacher. Bryan Douglas. Bryan returns for his third year as a travel coach.
