Autism Families CONNECTicut (AFC) Songs on the Spectrum
Autism Families CONNECTicut (AFC) is holding a special
two-week session of its popular “Songs on the
Spectrum,” a group music therapy program for children ages 4
to 10 with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their siblings. This
specialized program has been designed for children on the spectrum,
to provide a fun, safe music class appropriate for their
needs. Children will sing and play instruments, facilitated
by Emily Pellegrino from Connecticut Music Therapy Services.
Children will be encouraged to enjoy music, to learn social skills,
and to interact with each other. Get your child singing
and having fun on the weekend! Parents must remain with their
children during the session. 
Ages: 4-10 years March, 3rd and March 10th, 10:00-10:45 am

Monday Night Social Club
Middle school students, high school students, and young adults from the special population can enjoy a variety of games while meeting new friends in an informal, supervised format. Please call the Recreation Department for more information. Closed on major holidays.
Ages 13 and Up, SW Teen Center Mondays, 6:30pm-9:00 pm, Fee: $3/person/night
Challenger Basketball
Challenger is a basketball program for young athletes with disabilities. This program will provide these boys and girls in grades 2-5 an oppotunity to learn the basic skills and play the game of basketball. Each participant will be assisted in developing their skills of the game, raising their level of self-esteem and having fun.
Who: For young athletes in grades 2-5 with disabilities.
Where: Eli Terry Elementary School
When: Saturdays from January 21st-February 11th from 12:30-1:30 pm
Cost: $10
Each athlete will have a buddy which is a high school student or coach.
