Introduction to Geocaching
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.

What You Need to Geocache
  • An account that can be easily set up at the Geocaching website (basic membership is free)
  • A GPS enabled device (GPS device or a smart phone with a Geocaching app)
  • Shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather outside and walking on trails or being in other environments where the caches might be
  1. If you take something from the geocache (or cache), leave something of equal or greater value.
  2. Write about your find in the cache logbook.
  3. Log your experience at the Geocaching website.
What's Usually in a Cache?
