Little Explorers (Ages 3-5)

ACA Accredited. Welcome to Little Explorers! The best place to keep your little ones active this summer. Our eight, one-week sessions offer three camp choices: 3 half days, 5 half days, or 5 full days. Sign up for one or all eight!
Camp fills quickly, so be sure to early.

Accreditation & Training
Though state accreditation of our camps is unavailable, this camp is ACA Accredited. Be sure to check out our staff that helps makes this program great!
Age RequirementsTo ensure safety and appropriateness of all programs, we maintain strict age guidelines for all camps. If your child is turning 3 during a camp week, they can sign up for Little Explorers starting that session. If your child is turning 6 during a camp week, they can attend Little Explorers until that session is over.
Choose from any of the following options for each week of camp.
Your little camper will enjoy three mornings of camp - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - and enjoy activities with their new friends.
Tuesday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Session A, C - H:
Session B will run Monday – Wednesday, 8:30a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for
For campers who want to enjoy camp all week long! These children will participate in Little Explorers activities every weekday morning.
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Session A, C-H:
This option will NOT be offered for Session B (7/2 - 7/6)
Full day campers will be involved in great camp activities all day Monday - Friday! Campers bring their own lunch each day (please no nut products). Full-Day campers also enjoy additional crafts, activities, games, free play, and much more! Afternoons will also include a "rest time" so please bring a pillow and blanket.

Staff & Activities
The director of Little Explorers this summer will be Lauren DeMartino. Lauren has been involved with South Windsor Parks & Recreation since 2011. She has worked as a counselor at Little Explorers and Camp Discovery, spent a summer as the Camp Discovery FAR, and has worked in Assistant Director and Director Roles at Little Explorers. Lauren received a Bachlors of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Endicott College and recently received her Masters in Reading and Literacy from the University of Saint Joseph. During the school year, Lauren works at the Preschool Outreach Program at Timothy Edwards as a para in the POP and IPOP classrooms. IN her free time, she loves to bake and play with her two golden retrievers, Cooper and Bo. Lauren is excited to be back at Little Explorers for another fun-filled summer!
Lauren, as well as her energetic staff, will guide your children through fun filled days involving:

- Weekly Themes & Spirit Days
- And so much more!
Location & Transportation
Camp is regularly held at Wapping Parks & Recreation Facility. Parking will be in the SWHS back lot, and sign-in will be located in the rear of the building.
On Wednesday mornings, camp is held at Veteran's Memorial Park. Drop off for all campers and pick up for half day campers will be at Veterans Memorial Park. Transportation will be provided from VMP pool to Wapping Parks & Recreation Facility for 4 and 5-year-olds. Full day 3-year-olds must be picked up from VMP and transported back to Wapping Parks & Recreation.
All campers must be potty trained.
