Connecting the Community

On Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11am, South Windsor Residents are invited to a Ribbon Tying Ceremony at the South Windsor Public Library to celebrate the new sidewalks on Sullivan Avenue and Buckland Road.  This family friendly event sponsored by South Windsor Parks & Recreation and South Windsor Walk & Wheel Ways will kick off with a traditional Chinese Lion Dance performed by the Ju Long Wushu Chinese Martial Arts Center in front of the library.  A brief ceremony will be held followed by a walk on the new sidewalks as well as a chance to show off your chalk drawing skills!  A box of sidewalk chalk is available to each child at the ceremony.
The Ju Long Wushu Chinese Martial Arts Center, located in the Town Center, has been selected to tie the ribbon with the Mayor as a symbol of Connecting Our Community. The new sidewalks, crosswalks, and pedestrian traffic signals at the intersection of Sullivan Avenue and Buckland Road are an important connection to making South Windsor Center a community focal point.  Come join the fun!Click here to add content...
